Dan was a genuinely nice man that I was honored to know through work and who I had fun chatting with at parties. After he retired I missed passing him in the halls at work and catching up. My condolences to Maricela, Quentin and all of the family.

I became acquainted with Dan in the labs but never worked directly with him. He was always a friendly person to chat with and I enjoyed his friendship. He will be missed. My prayers to all of his family.

Dan was one of my first friends at work and a fun person to be around. I missed hearing him talk about his family travels and seeing his childhood photos after he retired. He will be missed. My deepest sympathies go out to his family at this difficult time.

I can remember my cousin Dan from my earliest preschool age memories. He and his family visited several times when they lived in the Washington DC area. Later when they moved to Pekin, l was able to enjoy many years of childhood playmate activity and family get-togethers. By the time we were old enough to ride bicycles to each other’s homes, we were the closest of friends and always were after that. Even when we moved to distant locations, we had the kind of close relationship, that no matter how long time passed between visits or conversations, that closeness was always there. We were closer than most brothers and his passing is a loss like l have never known before. My heart and prayers go out to Maricela and Quentin, and I am so blessed to have had Danny as my best friend and dearest relative. God bless you all.

Dear Maricela, I started with Dan at Eli Lilly together with a small group of other new chemists. It was such a joy to have him around during my days because I knew I would be smiling with any and very interaction I’d have with Dan. I left Indy in 2010, but I hope you know I’d be there personally today if I could to celebrate the wonderful man he truly was. Peace and blessings to you and your family, and I am so sorry for your great loss…

    Maricela,
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. I was saddened to hear of your loss. I hope that time and fond memories will soften the sadness.

So shocking and sad to hear of Dan’s passing this week. I will always remember his mischievous grin and his wry sense of humor; just a brief hallway exchange with him was always enough to brighten one’s day at work. He will be dearly missed by those who had the pleasure of knowing him.
